About

Jacob began his audio engineering journey at a young age in the suburbs of Milwaukee. With a simple two channel Behringer mixer, a Shure microphone, and a bootlegged copy of Sony Acid (DAW), he began learning the art of recording. He became immediately obsessed with audio and the process of trying to capture sound in recordings. After countless hours writing and tracking covers and original material alike, he started several bands and spent most of his free time recording them. Jacob has been in the audio field for over 20 years, obsessing over getting good tones and creating pristine and catchy recordings.

Jacob attended UW-Milwaukee, majoring in guitar performance. He also studied Computers & Music as part of his degree, where he continued learning more about frequencies, sound design, and synthesis. He also completed an internship at Gravity Studios in Chicago, where he assisted during sessions and learned many additional recording, mixing, and mastering techniques.

Jacob holds a BFA in Fingerstyle Guitar Performance from UW-Milwaukee, which makes him uniquely qualified to teach everything from music theory to composition to the mechanics of playing guitar to both beginner and advanced students. He spent many years teaching at Guitar Center before venturing into private lessons. He also runs guitar and ukulele programs at local elementary schools.

Jacob is also a singer/songwriter specializing in original acoustic solo and instrumental works. He performs at local restaurants and venues and has had original compositions in rotation on radio stations such as 88.9 Radio Milwaukee, 91.7 WMSE, and 89.7 WUWM. Feel free to reach out if you are interested in booking Jacob for a guitar performance.
